Apr. 24, 2024 - For the third consecutive week, a North Central College women's track and field athlete has been awarded the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Athlete of the Week award. This week's award winner is thrower Alexandra Draves.

Draves has recorded new personal records in back-to-back competitions. Draves tossed a 180-foot and one-inch (54.89m) throw last weekend at the Don Church Twilight Meet. The throw ranks third in the program's outdoor top 10 records and currently ranks sixth in Division III. This is Draves' ninth CCIW Athlete of the Week award in her career.

Draves and her Cardinal teammates are back to competition on Thursday, Apr. 25, at  the Elmhurst College Invitational. In Elmhurst, field events are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m., and running events are scheduled for 3 p.m.
