Apr. 7, 2024 - Playing in their final home match of the season, the North Central College men's tennis team captured its ninth straight win by defeating Augustana College 7-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Wyatt Crowell and Henry Ros won the first match of the day with an 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles. Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Matthew Sengphommachanh battled to an 8-5 win over the No. 10 ranked duo in the Central Region, Arthur Hermange and David Larraga at the No. 1 spot.  Completing the doubles sweep was Rafael Lessa and Daniel Estanislao who won 8-6 at No. 3.

Crowell also won the first singles match with a 6-4, 7-5 victory at No. 4. Clinching the match, Sengphommachanh won 7-6 (7-5), 6-0 in the No. 2 fixture. Lessa rolled to a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 5 with Estanislao earning a straight set victory (7-6, 7-5) at No. 6.

The Cardinals (16-3, 4-0) hit the road next weekend as they take on Millikin University at 11 a.m. on Friday before facing Illinois Wesleyan University in the nightcap at 4:30 p.m.
