HARTLAND, Wis. (May 2, 2024) - Playing as the top-seed in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tournament, the North Central College men's tennis team made quick work of Elmhurst University on Thursday morning, winning 5-0 to advance to the semifinals.

The duos of Wyatt Crowell/Guillermo Gonzalez Fernandez and Daniel Estanislao/Rafael Lessa cruised to 8-0 wins at No. 1/3 doubles while the tandem of Matthew Sengphommachanh/Ramon Vilarroig Martinez won 8-1 to finish off the doubles sweep.

Needing two singles matches to clinch the win, Gonzalez Fernandez rolled to a 6-0. 6-0 win at No. 6. Securing the Cardinal victory, Justin Penados defeated Russell Reyes 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 3 position. Vilarroig Martinez, Sengphommachanh, Crowell, and Lessa each earned first set wins before the clinch.

North Central moves on to the semifinals, taking on the winner of No. 4 Wheaton College and No. 5 Carroll University. The first serve is set for 10 a.m. at either Jean Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Complex in Waukesha (outdoor location) or Wisconsin Athletic Club in Hartland (indoor location) depending on the court conditions.
