May 6, 2024 - Capturing the first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Hitter of the Week award for the North Central College baseball team this season, senior Jack Oberli earned the honor for his performance in the Cardinals' 3-1 week.

North Central scored 43 runs this past week, sweeping Elmhurst University in a three-game series and falling to CCIW Co-Champion Millikin University in a tight 9-7 game. On the week, Oberli hit .588 with 10 hits, eight RBI, five runs, four doubles, and a home run while slugging 1.000 with a .650 on-base percentage. He was also perfect in the field with three putouts. 

Oberli is the lone Cardinal to net a CCIW weekly award. He joins pitcher AJ Kutcher as the other active North Central baseball player to earn a CCIW Player of the Week honor as Kutcher won Pitcher of the Week on Mar. 27, 2023. He threw five innings of scoreless baseball allowing just one hit and recording seven strikeouts in the Cardinals' 21-0 win over Illinois Tech.

The Cardinals face Augustana College on Wednesday in the CCIW Tournament at 5:30 p.m. in an elimination game played at Holmgren Athletic Complex. The winner of the contest moves into the four-team double-elimination bracket, beginning on Thursday.
