Sept. 1, 2024 - Getting their first action of the season, the North Central College women's triathlon team hosted the Splash and Dash event on the campus of North Central College in Naperville. The event featured a 400-yard swim and a 1.5-mile run while going head-to-head against the Millikin Big Blue as the Cardinals would place first. 

Having the entire team compete, the Cardinals captured the top nine spots of 15 competitors as well as accumulating 65 points to beat Millikin who only mustered 20. 
 
Hailey Poe started her season strong finishing first among the whole field with a time of 16 minutes and one second. She had the second best swim time clocking in at four minutes and 51 seconds and the second best run time of nine minutes and 28 seconds. 
 
Next to finish for the Cardinals was Bethany Smeed (16:13) who had the best overall run time with a time of nine minutes and 20 seconds, followed by Charlotte Kumler in third with a 16:20 finish. 
 
Freshman Keeley Mick placed fourth clocking in at 17:11, while Scarlett Schuth (17:22) finished 11 seconds later in fifth place. Abigail Anderson (18:15) finished sixth, Taylor Robinson (18:20) would capture seventh place, Sydney Sprayberry (18:39) crossed the finish line as the eighth place finisher, and rounding out the top nine sweep Taylin Lemke (18:51) captured the ninth spot. 
 
North Central hits the road for the Beaver County Tri Cup in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on Sept. 14.
