Men's Cross Country Posts Strong Finishes in Louisville & Dixon

LOUISVILLE, Ky. & DIXON, Ill. (Oct. 4, 2025) - Competing in two meets Saturday, Oct. 4, the North Central College men's cross country team posted a perfect score of 15 points at the Sauk Valley Skyhawk Invitational and finished seventh in the men's 8k Gold race and sixth in the 8k Blue race at the Division I Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic. 

North Central swept the top-11 spots at the Skyhawk Invitational led by junior Nolan Crooks who took the individual win with a 13 second cushion. Daniel Kasperan finished second for the Cardinals and in overall standings in 26:17.0. Jackson Carius finished third in 26:52.0 with Rylan Deichen and Luke Cerwin rounding out North Central's scorers in fourth (27:20.0) and fifth (27:23.0). 

The Cardinals totaled 265 points in the Division I loaded Men's 8k Gold race to finish seventh. Middle Tennessee State University took the Gold title with 60 points followed closely by Eastern Kentucky University with 62 points in second. West Texas A&M University took third with 149 points. 

BJ Sorg dropped 20 seconds off his season-best time and set a four-second personal-best of 24:06.7 in the Gold race to finish 17th overall. Oscar Frontjes climbed 17 spots in the final stretch to finish 30th overall in a time of 24:27.4. Jacob Kluckhohn was the third Cardinal across the line in 56th place (24:51.5) with Jack Galminas (25:14.6) and Aidan Armstrong (25:16.7) finishing side-by-side in 90th and 91st respectively. 

The Louisville Blue race consisted of more Division III teams where North Central ran its "B" team. The Cardinals totaled 279 points for sixth, led by Ari Elmayan in 18th place (25:32.4). Tyler Schick was North Central's No. 2 runner in the Blue race in 34th place (25:51.0) with Owen Christy finishing 67th (26:10.3). Jack Ryan and Bryce Chamberlin capped off the Cardinal scorers in 81st (26:17.2) and 95th (26:23.0), respectively.

North Central will take a week off before heading to Rock Island, Ill. for the Augustana Interregional Invitational Saturday, Oct. 18.
