NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 25, 2025)- Following a stellar weekend at the Concordia University of Wisconsin Open,
Joshua Robison was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Wrestler of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference announced at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
Robison, the seventh-ranked 141-pound wrestler according to the latest National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) poll, won his weight class on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the 31st Annual Concordia Wisconsin Open. His championship win started with a 19-0 technical fall over Gavin Ross (University of Dubuque) to advance to the next round. Robison followed it up with a second technical fall, defeating Aidan Laird (Wheaton College), dominating the match 17-2. He moved onto the semifinals after an 8-1 decision victory over Patrick Mullin (Wartburg), where Robison would face the No. 2-ranked 141-pound wrestler Sean Conway, from the University of Chicago. Robison trailed Conway 5-4 in the late stages of the match, but a takedown scored by Robison with two seconds left secured him a 7-5 decision victory for the upset. The championship match was a medical forfeit by Vincent Santaniello (The College of New Jersey), giving Robison the 141-pound championship in the tournament.
Robison sits with a record of 9-3 this year with four decisions, two technical falls, and one pinfall.
Men's wrestling is in action Nov. 26 for a CCIW dual against the Augustana College Vikings inside of Gregory Arena with a 2 p.m. start time. The Cardinal wrestling programs will honor the late North Central men's cross country coach Al Carius and the cross country program by donning custom candy-striped singlets for the double feature.
