NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 4, 2025)- The North Central College men's wrestling team earned its first College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Student-Wrestler of the Week award as
Ethan Spacht was named the conference's wrestler of the week on Tuesday. The award comes after an undefeated Pointer Open where Spacht won the 133-pound gold division. This marks the first time Spacht has been named the CCIW Wrestler of the Week.
Spacht was named as the 12th-ranked 133-pound wrestler in the National Wrestling Coaches' Association (NWCA) preseason poll. He went 5-0 in the Pointer Open, beginning the day with a pin over Kolton Ploughe (Manchester) in 1:31. Spacht scored an 18-1 technical fall victory over Simon Moreno (Wisconsin-Parkside) to move onto the quarterfinal. In the quarterfinal, Spacht earned a second victory via pinfall, finishing off Cael Morrow (Minnesota State Mankato) in 2:46. His final two matches were won with a pair of 4-0 decisions, with a win over Chase Beckett (Minnesota State Mankato) in the semifinal and Matthew Chi (Wisconsin-Parkside) in the championship match.
North Central heads to Wheaton College on Tuesday, Nov. 11, for a CCIW dual inside of King Arena as they look to extend their CCIW duals win streak to 58.
