Perfect Score Highlights Women’s Cross Country Midweek Race

Nov. 6, 2025 - In its final home race of the season, the North Central College women's cross country team turned in a perfect score of 15 points at the Red & White Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 6 at St. James Farm. Junior Lily Anderson won the three-mile race with the Cardinals turning in the top 12 collegiate finishes. 

The Red & White Invitational featured three complete teams. Behind North Central's 15 points was Moody Bible Institute with 59 points followed by Benedictine University's 70 points. 

Anderson established a comfortable lead from the get-go and led the three-mile race wire-to-wire. The junior crossed the finish line with a 10 second cushion, clocking a time of 18:02.60 for a first place finish, the first win for the junior this season.

Molly Sheridan and Brianna Ruiz ran the race in the No. 2 and No. 3 spots the whole way. Sheridan finished in a time of 18:12.70 for second while Ruiz was third in 18:16.40.

Segi Smith-Pariola placed fourth with a time of 18:20.10 with Yarecci Salmeron rounding out the top-five in 18:30.90. Giselle Alcala and Camdyn Lawson turned in sixth and seventh-place finishes, respectively.

North Central now turns its attention to the NCAA Midwest Regional Championship next Saturday, Nov. 15 in Waverly, iowa as Wartburg College serves as this year's meet host.
