GREENCASTLE, Ind. (Feb. 21, 2025) - Falling behind early against DePauw University, the North Central College men's tennis team dropped a non-conference contest to the Tigers, 6-1 Friday evening inside the DePauw Indoor Tennis and Track Center.

After falling at the top spot to the Tigers, Henry Ros and Justin Penados batted to a 7-6 (7-5) victory at No. 3 doubles. DePauw won a tight 7-5 match at No. 2 to claim the doubles point and head into singles play with a 1-0 advantage.

Following a 6-0 loss in the opening set, Matthew Sengphommachanh (No. 2) battled back to win 6-2 and 7-5, earning the Cardinals' lone singles victory of the day. Ramon Vilarroig Martinez, Rafael Lessa and Philipp Wottgen each pushed their opponent to the brink, but ultimately fell in a decisive third set.

The Cardinals host No. 17 University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Friday, Feb. 28. The match is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. inside Naperville Tennis Club.
