Mar. 1, 2025 – The North Central College men's lacrosse team battled to their third straight victory to start the 2025 season, outlasting the Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons 19-12 inside Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Entering the endeavor after a 16-8 road victory over the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, North Central (3-0) found themselves down to start the game for the first time this season when Caleb Ruger and Bryce Petersen pushed a 2-0 lead three minutes in. The Cardinals took four minutes to reset before Charlie Snyder, Zachary McClure, and Dylan Andersen each scored to jump ahead by one. Concordia (0-3) quickly recovered with a goal of their own from Esposito with six minutes to go, but Andersen, Snyder, and Nagy combined to force a 7-3 lead before the end of the quarter.

The second period saw the Cardinals go on a 5-1 scoring run between Snyder, Cole Westphal, Dalton Lutz, and McClure, forcing an unyielding 12-3 lead with eight minutes left. An ensuing defensive battle allowed no scoring until the final 60 seconds when Preston Meier broke through to inch the Falcons back within eight.

North Central came roaring out of halftime with two more scores between Andersen and Snyder within the first three minutes. For the final ten minutes of the third period, the Falcons would go on a 5-2 run to overpower the next goals between Andersen and Westphal to finally crawl within seven scores.

The Cardinals would dash the hopes of a Falcon comeback, scoring three more unanswered goals to start the fourth period with Snyder's seventh of the game and Wyatt Hunt's first two of his career. With under eight minutes left in regulation, Concordia attempted to close the gap but only managed three goals, with two of them coming in the final three minutes to seal the scoring at 19-12.

Offensively, the Cardinals were led by Snyder's career high seven goals with one assist, while Andersen backed him up with four and one. Kyle Carollo, McClure, and Jason Smith each tallied a caused turnover to keep Concordia off-kilter.

Aidan Murphy secured his third win in the net with 15 saves in 52 minutes, while Freshman Josiah Karnehm played his first eight minutes with two saves in goal as a freshman.

The Cardinals continue the homestand with a match against the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Saturday, March 8th. Access the full schedule HERE.
