ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 9, 2025) - Kicking off their spring break trip, the North Central College men's tennis team won eight of nine matches to earn a 6-1 victory over Oglethorpe University Sunday morning at USTA National Campus.

Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Matthew Sengphommachanh claimed a 6-4 victory at the top doubles spot while Rafael Lessa and Henry Ros clinched the doubles team point with a 6-4 win of their own at No. 2. Completing the doubles sweep was Ignacio Hernandez Ruiz and Philipp Wottgen in the No. 3 position with another 6-4 win over the Stormy Petrels.

Ros won the first singles match of the day, defeating Noah George 6-3, 6-1 at No. 5 before Lessa won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 4. Securing the team with was Hernande Ruiz with a comeback 2-6, 6-0, 10-7 win at No. 4. Both Vilarroig Martinez and Sengphommachanh battled to a three-set victory at No. 1 and No. 2 to earn a 6-1 win for North Central.

The Cardinals continue their spring break trip Monday with matches against No. 4 Case Western Reserve University and Franklin & Marshall College, both at Sanlando Park in Orlando.
