Apr. 11, 2025 – Facing the No. 14 ranked team in Division III, the North Central College women's tennis team fell 7-0 to Washington University in St. Louis Friday afternoon inside Naperville Tennis Club.
The Bears controlled the match early on as the visitors swept doubles play to take a 1-0 lead into singles actions. Abigail Penados battled to a 6-3, 6-1 loss to the 10th-ranked singles player in the Central Region, Eleanor Archer. Natalie Bassett fell 6-0, 6-0 to the No. 1 ranked player in the region at No. 2. Kate Herlihy delivered the closest match of the day, ultimately dropping a 6-4, 6-4 match to Nina Moravek.
North Central concludes its regular season Sunday by visiting the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The match is set to begin at noon at Warhawk Outdoor Tennis Complex.
