QUERETARO, Mexico (Apr. 11, 2025) - Competing for Team USA, North Central College women's wrestling
Sydney Petzinger (53 kg) claimed a bronze medal at the Pan-American Championships held in Queretaro, Mexico.

In the qualification match, No. 3 Petzinger earned a 12-2 technical fall win over Panama's No. 2 Yusneiry N. Agrazal West to begin the competition. Petzinger needed just one minute and 17 seconds to pin Paraguay's No. 1 Ingrid C. Rodriguez in the quarterfinals. In a heartbreaking semifinal match, Petzinger fell to No. 4 Shammilka A. Miranda Diaz of Puerto Rico by an 8-6 decision. In the bronze match, Petzinger defeated No. 5 Kailane Araujo De Sousa with a dominating 10-0 technical fall.

Petzinger finished the 2024-25 season as the 117-pound national champion. At the USA Wrestling Nationals, Petzinger earned a second-place finish (53 kg).

Cardinal wrestlers are set to compete in the USA Wrestling US Open and Senior Nationals Apr. 24 and Apr. 25, at the Expo at World Market Center in Las Vegas, Nev.
