Apr. 5, 2025 - Remaining unbeaten in conference play, the North Central College men's tennis team won five of the six singles matches over Millikin University on the way to a 6-1 victory over the Big Blue Saturday inside Naperville Tennis Club.

Rafael Lessa and Henry Ros rolled to a 6-0 win at No. 3 doubles to begin the event. After Millikin won at No. 2, Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Matthew Sengphommachanh earned a clutch 6-4 win at the No. 1 position to pick up the doubles point.

Vilarroig Martinez won the first singles match for the Cardinals in straight sets. Lessa beat Cole Phillips 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 before Ignacio Hernandez Ruiz earned a comeback 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 2 to clinch the North Central victory. Dieter Gonzales and Matt Crossland both won in straight sets as well to secure the 6-1 win for the Cardinals.

North Central visits Augustana College Saturday at 2 p.m. to continue College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin play. The Cardinals beat the Vikings, 7-2 a season ago.
