ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (May 3, 2025) - Winning the fourth College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championship in program history with a 4-1 victory over Augustana College, avenging a loss to the Vikings earlier in the season. The Cardinals earn the league's automatic qualifier to the NCAA Division III Tournament, set for next weekend.

Philipp Wottgen and Rafael Lessa picked up the first doubles win at the No. 2 spot with a 6-1 victory over Santiago Diaz and Aingeru Garcia. Securing the doubles point was Ramon Vilarroig Martinez and Matthew Sengphommachanh with a 6-2 win at the top spot. 

Vilarroig Martinez claimed the second team point for North Central with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Arthur Hermange at No. 1 singles. After the Vikings scored their lone point of the match, Sengphommachanh beat Saman Rezeyan 6-4, 7-5 at No. 2. Clinching the match and the CCIW Title, Wottgen defeated Nicolas Navarro 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5.

The Cardinals head to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season. The selection show will be live on NCAA.com at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 6.
