June 26, 2025 - The North Central College Athletics Communication Office, formerly known as the sports information department, has announced the hiring of Taiah Gallisath '20/M'23 as associate director of athletics communication and the promotion of Nicholas Osterloo '19/M'21 to director of athletics communication ahead of the 2025–26 athletic season.
 
Both Osterloo and Gallisath were recognized nationally by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) organization as 30 Under 30 honorees in June, a program that highlights emerging athletics communications professionals across all NCAA and NAIA divisions in the United States and Canada.
 
Gallisath returns to North Central as the first full-time female staff member in the Athletics Communication Office after spending two years at Illinois Wesleyan University (IWU) as assistant director of athletics communications. At IWU, she led feature storytelling efforts, including a yearlong series celebrating the 50th anniversary of NCAA Division III. She has received national recognition for her writing and is an active member of the CSC, serving as a member of the Academic All-America Committee and the Inclusion Fellowship. Alongside her colleagues, IWU's athletics communication team earned the 2023-24 D3SIDA Region 4 Communicators of the Year Award.
 
Previously, Gallisath served as a graduate assistant in the College's athletics communication office, where she led communications for the Cardinal men's volleyball team's 2023 berth in the national championship match and has worked with all 26 athletic programs. Gallisath is a former Cardinal student-athlete, earning All-America honors as a high jumper for the women's track & field team.
 
Osterloo enters his fifth year with North Central's athletics communication department. During that time, the Cardinals' digital presence has grown significantly, with record-high website traffic and increased engagement across NCC Athletics' social media platforms. Student graphic designers in the athletics communication office have won numerous national graphic design awards through CSC.
 
In August 2024, Osterloo received the College's Distinguished Performance Award for administrative staff. He graduated from North Central in 2019 and returned as a graduate assistant in the sports information office from 2019 to 2021.
 
Also an active member of CSC, Osterloo serves on the Academic All-America Committee, the Young Professionals Committee, and has participated in the CSC's mentorship program. He is also a member of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Division III Hitter, Pitcher, and Rookie of the Week Committee. On campus, Osterloo represents the Office of Institutional Communication on the College's staff council.
 
The Athletics Communication Office oversees the athletics website, social media, livestreaming, statistics, award nominations, and communication efforts for all 26 Cardinal athletic programs.
