2024-2025 CSC Academic All-America Women's Track & Field/Cross Country
July 15, 2025 – Adding to an already impressive resume, North Central College women's track and field sprinter
Lindsey Novak adds her second College Sports Communicators (CSC) NCAA Division III Academic All-America honor to her list of accolades. The organization announced its women's track and field selections Tuesday morning.
Nominees must carry a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and have achieved at least sophomore academic and athletic standing while meeting specific athletic criteria for their respective sports. The Academic All-America Teams are selected through a vote by CSC's membership, which is comprised of more than 4,000 sports information and athletic communication professionals throughout the United States and Canada.
A three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, Novak earns her second consecutive Academic All-America Second Team selection after earning the distinction in 2024. She is one of seven North Central women's track and field student-athletes named to the Academic All-America team and is only the second to earn the honor in back-to-back years, joining Elizabeth Composto '15 (2014, 2015).
Novak, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in psychology and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in physical therapy, qualified for both the indoor and outdoor NCAA Division III Championships in the 200- and 400-meter events. She came away with All-American hardware for both events indoors. She also collected All-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) honors in the 55-meter, 200, 400, and 4x400 events at the CCIW Indoor Championships, before replicating that performance at the CCIW Outdoor Championships with all-conference accolades in the 200, 400, 4x100, and 4x400.
In her final season donning the red and white, Novak broke indoor school records in the 55 (7.09), the 200 (24.73), and the 400 (56.16). She also set new outdoor records in the 200 (23.98) and the 400 (53.99), becoming the first Cardinal in school history to run under 24 seconds in the 200 and to break 54 seconds in the 400.
Novak's outdoor 400 time ranks 15
th in Division III history, while her outdoor 200 and indoor 55 both rank 17
th all-time.
Novak is one of eight Academic All-America selections across the CCIW, with Augustana College, Carthage College, Elmhurst University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and North Park University each represented.
