July 21, 2025 – The North Central College women's track and field team has been recognized for its 19th
consecutive United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team award while eighth student-athletes were named to the individual All-Academic list.
To qualify for the individual All-Academic award, student-athletes must have compiled a grade point average of 3.30 and have qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships or finish the season ranked in the national top 50 in an individual event or the top 35 in a relay event.
The Cardinals earn the team award for the after posting a cumulative grade-point average of 3.382. To be eligible for the award, institutions must be USTFCCCA members and compile a team GPA of 3.10 or better.
Lindsey Novak and
Natalie Johnson earn their fourth All-Academic nods while
Gwen Berenyi,
Kyla Miller, and
Cali Minkie earn the distinction for the third time.
Anna Cotter,
Gabrielle Harding, and
Alivia Henkel are first time honorees.
Novak is earning her doctorate in physical therapy and recently concluded her collegiate career as a 10-time All-American sprinter. She earned runner-up honors in the 200- and 400-meter events at both College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Indoor and Outdoor Championships this season. At the NCAA Division III Indoor Championships, Novak claimed a pair of All-American first team honors in the 200 and 400m before earning USTFCCCA Second Team distinction in both events outdoors. Novak is the owner of six school records between the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Johnson, a health science major, finished third in the pole vault at the CCIW Indoor Championships to earn All-CCIW honors before winning the CCIW title outdoors. She holds the No. 6 pole vault marks in program history both indoor (12'4") and outdoor (12'3.50").
A business management major, Berenyi won the CCIW pole vault title indoors and qualified for both indoor and outdoor NCAA Division III Championships. Berenyi earned First Team All-American honors indoor after placing fifth overall. She holds the No. 2 pole vault marks in program history both indoor (13'1.75") and outdoor (13'2.50").
Miller, an exercise science major, earned All-CCIW honors indoors as part of the runner-up 4x400-meter relay team at the CCIW Indoor Championships. She earned all-conference honors outdoors in both the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. She moved up to No. 4 in program history for the outdoor 200m (24.99).
A sociology major, Minkie earned All-CCIW honors at the CCIW Indoor Championships as part of the 4x400m and distance medley relay teams. At the outdoor championships, Minkie scored in three events, earning all-conference nods in the 4x100m, 4x400m, and the 400m dash.
Cotter recently completed the first year of her master of business administration (MBA) degree. She is an All-CCIW honoree in the indoor 55-meter hurdles and pentathlon and was the runner-up in the heptathlon while also finishing sixth in the javelin at the CCIW Outdoor Championships. Cotter ranks third in program history in the heptathlon (4,343), seventh in the pentathlon (3,077) and 10th in the outdoor long jump (17'7").
Harding is working towards her doctorate in physical therapy degree. She earned all-conference accolades in the weight throw, hammer throw, and discus throw. Harding owns the seventh-best throw in program history in the discus (132'7"). Henkel, a freshman biochemistry major, won the 400-meter hurdles at the CCIW Outdoor Championships and clocked the fifth-fastest time in program history (1:03.13).
North Central contributed eight selections to the CCIW's total of 42 representatives on the All-Academic list.
