ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
June 4, 2025 — For the eighth consecutive year, the North Central College baseball team has been recognized for its academic success, earning the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.
The ABCA honored 440 college programs and nearly 300 high school teams nationwide for maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2023–24 academic year. North Central was one of 157 NCAA Division III programs to receive the award and one of six teams from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) to be recognized.
The Cardinals finished with a record of 26-19 overall with a 14-6 mark in the CCIW before winning the CCIW Tournament to make their 14th NCAA Tournament appearance. Parker Wyatt and Payton Diaz each earned All-CCIW accolades.
Andrew Bollman, AJ Kutcher, Austin Wienke and Parker Wyatt earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors, while 10 Cardinals were selected to the Academic All-CCIW Team.
The Cardinals are set to open the 2026 season in late February.
