LISLE, Ill. (Sept. 6, 2025) - The North Central College women's tennis team earned its second CCIW (College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin) victory of the season, sweeping Millikin University 7-0.
The Cardinals started strong in doubles play, with No.1 team
Abigail Penados and
Kensington Payne finishing a quick 6-0 win. The No.2 duo of
Kate Herlihy and
Liveta Ezerskis matched that result, clinching the doubles point in a 6-0 victory. At No.3 doubles,
Eva Zaskowski and
Sophia Drozd won their point due to a forfeit.
North Central continued to dominate in their singles play, with No.1 Penados not dropping a game, winning 6-0,6-0. Ezerskis followed at No.3 also with a 6-0,6-0 victory, while Herlihy closed her match at No.4 with the same score, 6-0,6-0. Payne earned a 6-0,6-1 win at No.2, and Zaskowski added a 6-2,6-0 result at No.5.
Anais Gerard claimed the final point of the day at No.6 singles via forfeit.
The Cardinals return to action tomorrow, Sept. 7, as they host Illinois Institute of Technology and Lake Forest College. The first match is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., followed by the second match at 1:30 p.m. at the Benet Academy Tennis Courts in Lisle, Ill.
