Moeller, DMR Pace Cardinals at Squig Converse Invitational

WHITEWATER, Wis. (Jan. 30-31, 2026) - A pair of event victories headlined the North Central College women's track and field team's weekend at the Squig Converse Invitational and Multi, as freshman Dylan Moeller played a key role in both wins, helping the Cardinals capture the distance medley relay and claiming first in the 800-meter dash.

The distance medley relay quartet of Brianna Ruiz, Kate Schmidthuber, Cire Smith, and Moeller won the event by a 25 second margin, clocking a time of 12:38.47. Later in the day, Moeller won the 800-meter with a season best time of 2:22.98 seconds, taking the event win with a two-second cushion. Olivia Durbin finished 10th in the 800m in a time of 2:28.50. 

Moeller also ran on the fifth-place 4-by-400m team alongside Zara Uvakova, Julia Kelly, and Charlotte Rossi, where they posted a time of 4:22.33. 

Uvakova continues to improve in the 60-meter this season, setting a new personal best time of 8.09 seconds to finish tied for ninth. 

Isabella Valentin competed in her first multi of the 2026 season on Friday, posting a fifth place finish overall with 2,836 points. She had the field's second fastest time of 9.37 in the pentathlon 60-meter hurdles, and came back on Saturday to finish fourth in the open 60m hurdles in 9.39 seconds. 

In the pole vault, Gwen Berenyi turned in a 3.60m (11'9.75") clearance to finish sixth overall. Abranet Layne also posted a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a leap of 10.77m (35'4").

Cali Minkie posted a pair of season bests in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. She clocked a 26.40 effort in the 200m to finish third and turned in a time of 59.25 seconds for fourth place in the 400m. Schmidthuber finished fifth in the 200m with a 26.71 showing while Elianna Keyes was just behind in sixth with a season best 26.75 second run. 

In the mile run, Yarecci Salmeron recorded a personal best of 5:38.83, good for a fourth place finish while teammate Camdyn Lawson's personal best of 5:44.75 earned her ninth place. Salmeron also had a personal best in the 3,000m (11:16.40).

The Cardinals swept places five through eighth in the 5,000m led by Giselle Alcala's fifth-place time of 20:09.54. Linda Luppi notched a personal best time of 20:33.43 to finish sixth while Leah Ortiz did the same with her 21:06.70 effort for seventh. Riley Landsverk ran a season best of 21:15.69 to finish eighth.

Next up for the Cardinals is the Keck DIII Select in Bloomington, Ill. The meet will serve as a preview of this year's CCIW Indoor Championships as Illinois Wesleyan is set to host.
