NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Oct. 7, 2026) – For the second time in his decorated career, Henry Ros was crowned the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Player of the Week. The North Central men's tennis player earned the recognition after going 5-2 at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championships in Brownsburg, Indiana, finishing the weekend as co-champion of the doubles consolation bracket.

Ros started the weekend in singles play in Flight A. Ros won his opening match 6-1, 6-3, and was awarded the win in the round of 32 after his opponent was forced to retire due to injury. He then fell in his round of 16 match 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles, Ros played with his regular partner Philipp Wottgen. The duo dropped their opening round match 8-3, but proceeded to run the table after the loss.

They won in the round of 32 8-2, then again in the round of 16 8-3. Ros and Wottgen advanced to the semifinals after a walkover in their quarterfinal contest.

The duo proceeded to win the semifinal 8-5 to clinch a spot in the consolation championship – a match that was not played because of the weather in the Brownsburg area earlier in the weekend that shifted the tournament's schedule.

Ros has accrued seven wins through the Cardinals' first two tournaments of the season. He is also the second consecutive Cardinal to have earned the award, as Wottgen was given the honors the last time the award was handed out on September 16.

The senior out of West Chicago collected his 80th career win in the doubles consolation semifinal match on Sunday. He has 43 career singles wins (10th in program history) and 37 doubles wins (12th in program history).

The Cardinals have concluded the Fall portion of their slate. They will start duals in January.
