Feb. 13, 2026 – The North Central College women's track and field team had an exceptional night at Al B. Carius Track inside the Wilde Res/Rec Center as a slew of Cardinals turned in personal best efforts and new marks in the program history books at the Chicagoland Indoor Championships. Freshman Dylan Moeller continues to impress as she not only broke the freshman record in the 1,000-meter, she also set a new varsity record in the event and anchored the distance-medley relay that broke another freshman record.

The Cardinal relays dominated the competition Friday night as the DMR squad of Molly Sheridan, Kate Schmidthuber, Giselle Alcala, and Moeller opened the day with the event win, setting a new freshman record of 12:34.36 that had previously stood since 2004. The 4-by-400m relay quartet of Alivia Henkel, Cali Minkie, Ciré Smith, and Zara Uvakova cracked the program's all-time list at No. 9 with a winning time of 3:58.73.

Moeller came back later in the night to win the 1,000m run while breaking both the freshman and varsity records in the event. Moeller's time of 3:01.37 is the fastest time by a freshman since 2020 and is the fastest all-time since 2019. Smith turned in a runner-up finish in 3:09.10 followed by Segi Smith-Pariola in third with a personal best time of 3:11.37. Alcala finished fourth in 3:24.43 with Kamryn Neer in fifth with a personal best time of 3:26.08.

Gwen Berenyi claimed the win in the pole vault with a season best clearance of 3.83m (12'6.75") a mark that moves her up to 13th in Division III this season and takes the top spot in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) performance list. Caroline Kuttner finished ninth in the event with a 3.23m (10'7") clearance.

Minkie turned in a runner-up finish in the 400m dash after clocking a season best time of 58.07 seconds, a time that ranks 29th in Division III this season and sits eighth in program history. Henkel turned in back-to-back weeks of 400m personal bests after clocking a 59.53 last weekend, she crossed in 58.78 seconds to finish third in the field of 38 and ranks 11th in program history.

The effort ties for seventh in program history and fifth in the CCIW. Lucia Sanchez Scriven notched a season best of 5.33m (17'5.75") to finish eighth in the field.
