BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (Feb. 28, 2026) – The North Central College women's track and field team secured a runner-up finish at the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships Friday and Saturday, Feb. 27-28, totaling 111.66 points. The Cardinals recorded 28 All-CCIW performances and one event champion in pole vaulter

North Central's 111.66 points trailed only Elmhurst University's 155.33, while Illinois Wesleyan University placed third with 94.33 points. Freshman
Dylan Moeller was voted the CCIW Track Newcomer of the Meet after earning All-CCIW honors in each of her four events.
Pola Kubrak received the CCIW Elite 26 Award as the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average competing at the championships, while
Hannah Galletti was named North Central's CCIW RESPECT Award recipient.
Berenyi claimed the Cardinals' lone event title Friday afternoon, clearing 3.70 meters (12'1.50") in the pole vault. The victory marks her third indoor CCIW championship in the event.
Lily Wintergerst earned All-CCIW honors with a fourth-place finish (3.15m, 10'4"), while
Caroline Kuttner placed eighth (3.15m, 10'4").
Moeller finished in the top four in all four of her events, highlighted by a runner-up performance as the anchor of the distance medley relay (DMR). Teamed with
Brianna Ruiz,
Cali Minkie, and
Ciré Smith, the quartet clocked 12:25.07. Moeller also placed third in both the mile (5:04.21) and the 3,000 meters (10:41.22), and finished fourth in the 800 meters (2:21.00).
Smith and Minkie joined
Kate Schmidthuber and
Alivia Henkel in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing second in 3:57.79, a time that ranks seventh in program history. Individually, Smith placed third in the 800 meters (2:18.36). Minkie earned a runner-up finish in the 400 meters (58.12), while Henkel placed fourth with a personal-best time of 58.36. Schmidthuber added an eighth-place finish in the 400 meters (59.87) to earn All-CCIW recognition. Minkie and Henkel also collected All-CCIW honors in the 200 meters, placing fourth (25.90) and seventh (26.06), respectively.
Isabella Valentin delivered a strong performance, finishing third in the pentathlon with 2,857 points and fourth in the 60-meter hurdles final with a personal-best time of 9.19 seconds. Her pentathlon points total was a new personal best and ranks ninth in program history and her hurdle time is good for 10th all-time.
Charlotte Rossi (9.50) and
Julia Kelly (9.60) also advanced to the 60-meter hurdles final, placing fifth and eighth, respectively. Kelly added two more All-CCIW performances with fifth-place finishes in the long jump (5.42m, 17'9.50") and triple jump (11.42m, 37'5.75"). Kelly's triple jump mark is a new personal best that ranks fifth in program history.
Marissa Magana and
Molly Sheridan recorded personal bests in the mile, placing sixth (5:21.57) and seventh (5:26.98), respectively. Magana also finished eighth in the 3,000 meters with a season-best time of 10:50.25.
Additional All-CCIW honorees included
Aaliyah Rodriguez (sixth, 5.36m) in the long jump,
Karley Galowitz (seventh, 11.65m) in the shot put,
Yakyra Wilder (eighth, 13.93m) in the weight throw, Kubrak (eighth, 1.49m) in the high jump, and
Abranet Layne (eighth, 10.98m) in the triple jump.
North Central will compete in final qualifying meets March 6-7 in Kenosha and La Crosse, Wisconsin.
