Mar. 24, 2026 - The North Central College men's basketball duo of
Sean Molloy and
Alejandro Diaz has been named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team for their combined efforts in the classroom and on the court.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be at least sophomores with a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher. Transfers are immediately eligible if they meet the same academic requirements. Athletically, nominees must compete in 90 percent of games played or start in at least 66 percent of them.
Molloy, a three-time CSC Academic All-District honoree, scored a season-high 18 points against Elmhurst University on Jan. 24. The marketing major scored in double-figures in 10 games this season. The Cardinals' lone senior averaged 9.4 points per game over 25 games.
Diaz led the team with 13.0 points per game, along with 4.1 assists and 1.6 steals per contest. He scored a career-high 21 points against the Mississippi University for Women on Dec. 21. The sport management major scored 10+ points in 21 of the Cardinals' 25 games this season.
Molloy became the first Cardinal men's basketball player to earn a CSC Academic All-District honor in 2024. Since then, the program has collected six district awards, earned by four student-athletes.
