April 16-18, 2026 - The North Central College women's track and field team took advantage of a three-meet weekend, bringing home two event wins from senior Gwen Berenyi in the pole vault at the Wake Forest Invitational and sophomore Alivia Henkel in the 400-meter hurdles at the Meet of Champions. The Cardinals continue to see marks improve as they begin to shift their focus towards championship season.

Berenyi won the pole vault in the Division I loaded Wake Forest Invitational after moving clean through a 4.03-meter clearance (13'2.50"). She ranks second in Division III this season and continues to lead the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW).

Henkel has continued her reign of the 400m hurdles, winning the event for the second straight week, this time in a 1:03.62 effort in a 21-person field at Augustana's Meet of Champions. Henkel later teamed up with Kate Schmidthuber, Cire Smith, and Zoe Ulaszek for a runner-up finish in the 4-by-400m relay with a finishing time of 4:07.17.

Dylan Moeller turned in a pair of second-place finishes in the 800m and 3,000m steeplechase in Rock Island. Moeller clocked a 2:21.65 in the 800m and netted a 20-second personal best in the steeplechase with an 11:13.28 effort. Her time set a new freshman record, leads the CCIW, sits sixth in program history and ranks 29th in Division III.

Back at Wheaton, Lucia Sanchez-Scriven placed third in the long jump with a 5.27m (17'3.50") jump on her first jump in finals while also posting a fifth-place finish in the pole vault with a 2.95m (9'8") clearance. The Cardinals notched one other top-five performance from its small group competing as Wheaton as Abigail Davidson threw a 30.43m (99'10") mark in the javelin to place fourth.

Next up for North Central is the Drake Alternative Meet, hosted by the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, on Friday, April 24.
