Moeller, 4x400 Relay Impress in Final Qualifier

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. & NORTHFIELD, Minn. (May 13-14, 2026) -- With NCAA qualifying bids on the line, the North Central College women's track and field team had an impressive final week at the Augustana College Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier, Wednesday and Thursday, May 13-14. The limited squad turned in four personal best efforts while the Cardinals improved their national rankings in two events. 

On the opening day of the Midwest Twilight Final Qualifier, freshman Dylan Moeller dropped another 10 seconds off her personal best time as she lowered her own freshman record to 10:49.08. She finished seventh overall in the 21-person field and currently ranks 27th in Division III and third in program history.

Gwen Berenyi cleared 3.78m (12'4.75") to finish third in the pole vault while teammate Caroline Kuttner was 14th at 3.33m (10'11").

The 4-by-400m relay team of Cali Minkie, Kate Schmidthuber, Cire Smith, and Alivia Henkel turned in a season-best time of 3:48.01 to finish fifth in the event. The time is the third fastest in program history and jumps to 17th in Division III this season. 

Up in Northfield, Minnesota, Isabella Valentin totaled 4,030 points in the heptathlon at the St. Olaf Manitou Last Chance Multi's U event, finishing sixth in the field. Her highest finish within the multi events was a third-place effort in the 100m hurdles (15.23). 

North Central has two guaranteed qualifiers to the NCAA Track and Field Championships next weekend, May 21-23, with Gwen Berenyi in the pole vault and Alivia Henkel in the 400m hurdles. The official list of qualifiers will be revealed on Friday, May 15.
