Matt Sinnott ‘03 joined the North Central coaching staff prior to the 2013 season as a volunteer assistant coach. In 2022, Sinnott was named interim head coach for the Cardinals' men's cross country program. On Dec. 1, 2022, Sinnott was officially named the program's permanent head coach.

Sinnott served on the staff for four national championship teams in cross country (2014, 2016, 2017, 2018) and two in indoor track and field (2017, 2019) as an assistant coach. He was named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Assistant Coach of the Year for the 2023 outdoor season.

    • Coached Multiple All-Conference honorees indoors and outdoors
    • Coached 2019 national runner-up indoor distance medley relay team and 2021 Division III national outdoor 1,500-meter run champion (Gabe Pommier '21)
West Aurora High School (2003-2013)
  • Coached teams to two top-16 finishes at the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) State Cross Country Championship
    • West Aurora had been absent from the state meet for 35 years
  • Coached multiple qualifiers to the IHSA State Track & Field Championships as well as school records in the 800-meter run and 4-by-800-meter relay
  • Taught in West Aurora's physics department
