Jacob Sandborn ‘14 was hired as the second head women’s bowling coach in the short history of the program prior to the fall of 2020.
“I’m really excited to re-join the athletics program at North Central,” said Sandborn, “being an alum and part of the wrestling program for four years and just being part of the athletics world is something that definitely peaked my interest.
“I’m really excited to bring some positivity and a positive change to the women’s bowling program. I want to bring the program up to the standards of the other teams we have at North Central, constantly competing for conference and national titles and just being part of the culture of North Central.”
Sandborn has a level one coaching certification from the United States Bowling Congress and is currently working on bronze level certification.
In the 2021-2022 Sanborn was named CCIW Coach of the Year and also coached Jessica Ramirez the 2022 CCIW's First-Year Student-Athlete of the Year.
Sandborn was a four-year letter winner for the men’s wrestling team at North Central, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2014, and is well versed in the culture that is North Central athletics having served on the admissions staff at the College.
Originally from Portland, Mich., Sandborn currently resides in Naperville, Ill. with his wife Elizabeth and son Nolan.
