Boatright joined the North Central tennis coaching staff in the fall of 2023 before being named the head men's and women's tennis coach in June 2024.
In his first season with the Cardinals, both the men's and women's teams won College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Championships, earning their way to the NCAA Tournament, marking just the second time in school history that both programs competed in the NCAA Tournament. Ramon Vilarroig Martinez became the second Cardinal men's tennis player to earn a spot in the NCAA Individual Tournament. Both teams also finished the season nationally ranked by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Under his guidance, the men’s program has captured two CCIW Tournament Championships, secured one CCIW regular season title, and made two NCAA Tournament appearances. His leadership has also produced two All-CCIW honorees and a CCIW Player of the Year.
On the women’s side, Boatright has led the team to two CCIW Tournament Championships, two regular season titles, and two NCAA Tournament appearances. The program has seen three student-athletes earn All-CCIW honors, including one recognized as the CCIW Player of the Year.
Prior to North Central, Boatright served as the head men's tennis coach at the University of St. Francis in Joliet for three seasons. Before coaching for the Fighting Saints, Boatright was an assistant coach at his alma mater Sul Ross State University (Texas), where he also played Division III tennis.
Boatright graduated in 2018 with political science and history degrees before furthering his education by earning a master's degree in health and human performance from Sul Ross State in 2019.
