Sydney Petzinger '25 joined the North Central women's wrestling coaching staff as an assistant coach in 2025.

As an undergraduate at North Central, Petzinger had a phenomenal four-year career on the mat for the Cardinals and helped lead the women's wrestling program to a national title in 2023, two national runner-up finishes in 2024 and 2025, three Region IV Championships, and three CCIW Championships. A four-time All-American in the 109- and 117-pound weight classes, two-time national finalist, and the 2025 Individual National Champion at 117 pounds, Petzinger's resume also includes CCIW and Regional individual titles while ranking 3rd on the program’s career wins list, with 101 career victories, and is the program’s career leader in technical falls with 63.

Petzinger is a multiple time USA Wrestling All-American at the U20, U23 and Senior level, and is currently on the USA Wrestling Senior National team, ranking third on the USA Olympic ladder at 53kg. At the 2025 U23 Pan-American Championships, Petzinger claimed the 53kg bronze medal while representing Team USA in Queretaro, Mexico.

A four-time NWCA Scholar All-American, Petzinger graduated in the spring of 2025 with a bachelor's degree in criminology.
