John Robinson joined the Cardinal wrestling staff as an assistant coach in 2014. Robinson comes to North Central from Waubonsee Community College where he coached from 1999-2014, serving as the Head Coach from 2000-2006 and 2008-2011. While at Waubonsee, Robinson coached 42 National qualifiers, 14 All-Americans and 2 National Champions.
Robinson wrestled collegiately at the University of Iowa where he received two varsity letters and was a member of the 1993 Big Ten and NCAA Championship team under legendary coach Dan Gable. At New Hampton High School, Robinson placed twice in the Iowa High School State Wrestling tournament, earning a runner-up finish as a senior in 1991.
