All-Conference
Oct. 16, 2008—The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin announced its women's tennis all-conference team on Thursday, with North Central College's
Cory Schillerstrom (Fr., Naperville, Ill./Central) earning second team honors.
Schillerstrom earned second team honors after finishing the season with a 17-12 record, playing in the No. 1 singles position for the Cardinals. At the CCIW Championships last weekend, Schillerstrom placed fourth. Schillerstrom was also a part of the team's No. 1 doubles squad, compiling a 13-10 record with her partner Allison Paschold (Jr., Carlock, Ill./Normal West).
12 players were named to the All-Conference team with the top six earning First Team honors. Schillerstrom was joined with Elizabeth Worsowicz of Wheaton College as the only freshmen selected to the All-Conference team.
North Central ended the 2008 fall season with an 11-4 dual match record and finished fourth at the CCIW Championships, qualifying the team for the Automatic Qualifier Tournament in April for a chance to earn a berth in the NCAA Division III Tennis Championships. The team's fourth place finish tied for their best finish in school history.
