AURORA, Ill. (Sep. 10, 2008) – Aurora University scored two first half goals within 10 seconds of each other, defeating North Central College, 3-0, in a non-conference women's soccer game at AU Field. Goalkeeper Elise Manzie (Jr., Naperville, Ill./Central) had a season-high nine saves in the losing effort.

The Spartans got on the board early with a goal in the 13th minute by Allison Bailey. Aurora would strike again moments later with a Jessica Novicka goal, bringing the score to 2-0. In the second half, Haley Pschirrer added a goal in the 59th minute to end the scoring for the game.

Aurora outshot North Central, 21-10 in the game with the Cardinals getting just six shots on goal.

With the loss, North Central drops back to .500 at 2-2-1, while Aurora improves to 3-2. Since opening up the season 2-0, the Cardinals have been winless (0-2-1) in their last three contests, mustering only one goal between the three games. North Central returns to action on Friday, September 12, when they host Mount Mercy College (Iowa) in the opening game of the Sal Vacarro Tournament. Game time is 5 p.m. at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.
