Elise Manzie has been named the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after guiding the Cardinals to an unbeaten record for the week.
The senior allowed just two goals in two games, logging in all 180 minutes in goal as the Cardinals picked up two pivotal CCIW victories. Manzie stopped nine shots in the team's 3-1 victory over North Park University on Wednesday before recording four saves on Saturday in a 2-1 road win over Carthage College. She concluded the week with 13 saves, a goals against average of 1.00 while recording a save percentage of 86.7.
It is the second time in her career winning the award, Manzie also captured CCIW Player of the Week honors on Sept. 23, 2008.
The Cardinals (9-5, 2-3 CCIW), currently riding a three-game winning streak, face defending league champion Wheaton College on Wednesday at 7 p.m. inside Joe Bean Stadium in Wheaton.
