Oct. 28, 2009 -- A goal just three minutes into the game proved to be the only scoring of the night as sixth-ranked Augustana College slipped past North Central College, 1-0, in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's soccer match at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium.

Katie Oakes accounted for the lone score of the night, collecting a long pass before dribbling into the box and rifling off a shot just two minutes and 16 seconds into the game. The Vikings would take the 1-0 lead into the break at half after out-gunning North Central by a 13-2 margin.

Despite a combined 12 shots in the second stanza, neither team was able to find the back of the net in a scoreless second half.

Stefani Masterton accounted for two of the Cardinals' three shots on the night while Brittany Jones tallied the lone strike on goal.

Goalkeeper Elise Manzie racked up nine saves in the losing effort while Augustana's Kayla Radloff stopped one shot to pick up the shutout.

With the loss, North Central concludes its season 10-7 overall and 2-5 in CCIW play while the Vikings improve to 15-1-1 and remain unbeaten at 6-0 in conference action. It was a record setting season for the Cardinals in 2009, setting school records for most goals in a season (52) and wins (10) while Laura Petersen shattered the longstanding single-season scoring record after registering 15 goals on the year.
