Frazzini Captures 2nd Player of the Week Accolade

Nov. 2, 2010-- For the second time this season North Central College goalkeeper Amy Frazzini has been selected as the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin women's soccer Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Cardinals close out the week unbeaten in conference play.

The junior recorded 16 saves on the week as the Cardinals closed out the week unbeaten (1-0-1) in CCIW action. Frazzini recorded a career-high 10 saves in the team's 1-1 double overtime draw against 15th-ranked Augustana College on Wednesday in Rock Island, Ill. before posting six saves in team's 2-1 win over North Park University on Saturday.  
 
Frazzini logged all 200 minutes in goal for the Cardinals (7-8-2, 1-4-2 CCIW) recording a goals against average of 0.90 and notching a .889 save percentage. On the season Frazzini has logged 1,532 of the team's 1,570 minutes in goal, recording 74 saves with three shutouts, starting all 17 games.

This is the second time this season and the third time overall Frazzini has been honored as the CCIW Defensive Player of the Week. The goalkeeper earned the award on Sept. 21 after helping the Cardinals post a pair of shutouts en route to the Sal Vaccaro Tournament Title while also earning the award in 2008 as a freshman during the week of Oct. 14.
