Apr. 12, 2011-- The North Central College men's tennis team rolled to its second straight College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual match victory on Tuesday at the NCC Tennis Courts, overcoming an early deficit to topple Illinois Wesleyan University, 5-4.
In doubles, the visiting Titans (11-4, 1-1 CCIW) captured two of the three matches with
Sam Sweeney and
Matt Boguslawski emerging with the Cardinals (6-8, 2-1 CCIW) victory, prevailing 8-6 at No. 1 over Brian Pietrowski and Brian Sorich.
In singles, Sweeney extended his win streak to eight matches, easily cruising to a, 6-2, 6-0, win over Pietrowski while Boguslawski needed three sets to win, 6-1, 2-6, 6-4, at No. 2.
Boris Kampel posted a, 6-3, 7-5, victory over Ashvin Reddy at No. 5 while
Josh Clay emerged a, 6-2, 6-0, winner at No. 6.
The Cardinals continue their homestand on Sunday, welcoming Lake Forest College (Ill.) to the NCC Tennis Courts for a non-conference clash beginning at 3 p.m.
