Apr. 17, 2011-- Sweeping all six singles matches, the North Central College women's tennis returned to the court after a two-week layoff by blasting Aurora University, 8-1, in a non-conference dual on Sunday at the NCC Tennis Courts.

In doubles, the Cardinals' (11-5) No. 3 tandem of Erica Pang and Polly Dalton skunked the Spartans' (8-7) Jenee Lange and Keyonia Shaw 8-0 while Abigail Conover and Margaret Youel prevailed 8-4 at the No. 1 position.

Conover improved her season mark to 22-7 on this season with a, 6-1, 6-3, victory at No. 1 singles over Siri Nelson while Youel breezed by Maureen Wagner by the same score in No. 2 action. Allison Ignarski downed Liz Pfaff, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 3 while Madeline Urban walked away with the, 6-3, 6-4, win at No. 4. Erica Pang need three sets to dispose Lange, 4-6, 6-4, 10-5, at No. 5 while Polly Dalton earned the, 6-2, 6-0, victory at No. 6.

North Central concludes the spring season on Thursday, hosting Benedictine University in a non-conference dual beginning at 3 p.m.
