Apr. 19, 2011-- The North Central College men's tennis squad encountered little resistance on Tuesday inside the Res-Rec Center, blanking non-conference rival Aurora University, 9-0.
Boris Kampel posted the 8-6 win over the Spartans' (3-8) No. 1 squad of Danie Micun and Brett Wilder while
Eric McKee and
Josh Clay prevailed 8-1 at No. 2 over Clay Trautman and John Dudley.
Andrew McKinley and
Jesse Adamson secured the victory at No. 3 doubles, downing Zach Davis and Andy Patton, 8-1.
In singles,
Chris Bennorth posted the, 7-5, 6-3, win at No. 1 while McKee was flawless at No. 2, breezing to the, 6-0, 6-0, rout. Kampel won, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 3 while Clay blanked Juan Padilla, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 4 singles.
Adam Ciccone emerged a, 6-0, 6-0, victor at No. 6 singles.
Tuesday's match was orginally scheduled to be played at the NCC Tennis Courts but was moved to the indoor courts of the Res-Rec Center due to inclement weather.
The Cardinals (7-9) return to action on Thursday, hitting the road to face Elmhurst College in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual match beginning at 3:30 p.m.
