Apr. 27, 2011-- The North Central College men's tennis squad closed out its regular season on Wednesday inside the friendly confines of the Res-Rec Center, blasting Concordia University Chicago, 9-0, in a non-conference dual match.
In doubles,
Boris Kampel prevailed, 8-2, at No. 1 over the Cougars' (5-5) Thien Van and Nathan Wingfield.
Josh Clay and
Eric McKee breezed to the 8-1 victory at No. 2 while
Adam Ciccone and
Mason Sass edged Tim Staffeld and Vince Termini, 9-7, in No. 3 action.
In singles,
Chris Bennorth rolled, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 while McKee claimed the, 6-3, 7-6(6), win at No. 2.
Boris Kampel downed Alex Tarullo, 6-2, 7-5, at the No. 3 position while Clay was flawless in a, 6-0, 6-0, win over Van.
Andrew McKinley earned the, 6-0, 7-5, victory at No. 6.
The Cardinals (9-10) return to the courts on Friday, May 6, traveling to Bloomington, Ill. for the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships.
