Mar. 11, 2012-- The North Central College men's tennis squad opened its 2012 spring season on Sunday afternoon, blanking the visiting Aurora University Spartans by a 9-0 count in a non-conference dual match.

In doubles, Matt Boguslawski and Will Exner disposed the Spartans' No. 1 squad of Ricky Hernandez and Brian Koski, 8-3, while Eric McKee and Boris Kampel prevailed, 8-2, in No. 2 action. At No. 3 doubles, Mason Sass and Rustam Saini edged Matt Butler and Connor Propp, 8-6.

In singles, Boguslawski tallied a, 6-2, 6-4, victory over Hernandez at No. 1 while McKee to care of Koski, 6-0, 6-1, at the No. 2 spot. Will Exner breezed past Anthony Emmanouil, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 while Kampel, Ciccone and Sass, picked up wins at the No. 4 through No. 6 positions to ensure a clean sweep.

The Cardinals (1-0) return to the courts on Sunday, March 18, squaring off against Western New England University and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in a pair of duals in Orlando, Fla.
