ORLANDO, Fla. (Mar. 18, 2012)-- The North Central College men's tennis team opened up its annual Florida spring break trip on Sunday at the Lake Cane Tennis Courts, downing Western New England University (Mass.) 8-1 before closing out the day with an 8-1 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

The Cardinals (2-1) swept all three doubles matches to begin the day against the Golden Bears (0-3) of Western New England. Matt Boguslawski and Adam Ciccone tallied an 8-4 victory at No. 1 over Chris Holzinger and Peter Lefrancois while Eric McKee and Boris Kampel prevailed at No. 3 by an indentical score. Will Exner and Rustam Saini secured a doubles sweep by breezing past Jon Paul Ouellette and Peter Nassar, 8-1, at No. 2.

In singles, Boguslawski rallied from an opening set defeat to win, 3-6, 6-0, 10-2 over Holzinger at No. 1 while McKee rolled past Ouellette, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2.

Exner polished off Greg Tishofer, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 3 while Kampel and Ciccone earned wins at the No.4 and No. 5 positions, respectively.

In the late match against the Titans (4-7), Exner and Saini rolled Aiden Sauberlich and Adam Kasper, 8-3, in No.2 doubles for the Cardinals' lone vistory of the match.

North Central returns to the courts tomorrow, facing Lawrence University (Wis.) and Grinnell College (Iowa).
