Apr. 19, 2012-- The North Central College men's tennis team was unable to keep pace with regionally-ranked Wheaton College on Thursday at the NCC Tennis Courts, falling 7-2 in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual match.

The visiting Thunder (13-5, 4-0 CCIW), ranked 14th in the Central Region, won two of three doubles matches while the Cardinals' (3-10, 0-3 CCIW) Andrew McKinley and Mason Sass prevailed in No. 3 action, downing Joel Parrish and David Buursma, 8-3.

In singles, Boris Kampel claimed North Central's lone win, taking down Jordan Williams, 6-4, 4-6, 10-8, at No. 3.

The Cardinals return to the courts on Saturday, squaring off against Lake Forest College with matches slated to get underway at 11 a.m.
