CHICAGO, Ill. (Apr. 22, 2012)-- The North Central College men's tennis team was unable to match the firepower of the nationally-ranked University of Chicago on Sunday, falling 9-0 in a non-conference match at the Stagg Field Courts.

The Maroons (9-8), ranked 30th nationally and sixth within the Central Region, opened the match by sweeping all three doubles matches. Will Exner and Boris Kampel suffered an 8-3 setback at the No. 1 position to Troy Brinker and Jan Stefanski while Eric McKee and Rustam Saini were victimized by an identical score at No. 2.

In singles, Saini won his opening set at No. 5 against Harrison Abrams before eventually falling, 1-6, 6-1, 10-6 while McKee fell, 6-0, 6-2, at No. 1.

The Cardinals (3-12) return to action on Friday, hosting Carthage College at 3:30 p.m. in a College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin dual match at the NCC Tennis Courts.
