CCIW Release
Apr. 3, 2012-- The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin released its weekly award winners for women's track & field on Tuesday with North Central College's
Brianna Tolliver earning Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Tolliver earns the award after winning the javelin throw on Saturday at the First Chance Invitational, breaking her own school record after uncorking a throw of 139 feet, 6 inches. The senior's performance bettered her previous school record by 17 inches and is currently the third best throw in NCAA Division III this season. Tolliver additionally placed seventh in the long jump.
Tolliver's efforts helped the Cardinals pile on 200 points to win their own meet, outdistancing runner-up and CCIW rival Carthage College by 22 points.
The Cardinals compete as a split squad this weekend, sending a majority of athletes to the Chicagoland Outdoor Championships on Friday while a small contingent will travel to Saint Louis, Mo. on Saturday for the Wash U Select Meet.
