Apr. 30, 2012-- Despite capturing two of three doubles matches, the North Central College women's tennis squad was unable to keep pace in singles play, closing out its spring season by falling 6-3 to Saint Mary's College (Ind.) inside the Res-Rec Center.

In doubles, Cory Schillerstrom and Jenny Velasquez downed Shannon Elliott and Kayle Sexton, 8-6, at the No. 1 position while Madeline Urban and Reynolds Cross prevailed, 8-5, at No. 2.

Schillerstrom provided the Cardinals (9-7) lone victory in singles play, concluding her collegiate career with a, 7-5, 6-3, win over Sexton at No. 1, pushing her school record win total to 58.

Cross earned an opening set victory against the Belles' (11-9) No. 5 player before ultimately falling, 2-6, 6-3, 10-5.

North Central closes the year with an 11-9 overall mark and a 1-3 record during its spring campaign.
