ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (May 4, 2012)-- The North Central College men's tennis squad wrapped up its 2012 season on Friday at the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships hosted by Augustana College, turning in a sixth place finish.

The Cardinals (3-16) fell 5-0 to Elmhurst College in the opening round before suffering a 5-1 setback to Illinois Wesleyan University in the fifth place match.

Against the Bluejays (15-8), North Central dropped all three doubles matches, including a tight 9-7 decision at No. 2 by Will Exner and Boris Kampel. In singles, Elmhurst claimed victories at No. 1 and No. 3 to secure the victory.

Against IWU, Rustam Saini claimed the Cardinals' lone victory, downing Kevin Piotrowski, 6-1, 6-4, at No. 5.
