Sept. 10, 2012 - North Central College running back Nick Kukuc has been selected the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Offensive Football Player of the Week for Sept. 3-9.

Kukuc earned the award after helping lead the 13th-ranked Cardinals to a 42-16 win over the  then-No. 14 University of Redlands on Saturday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium. Kukuc scored a career-high four touchdowns, including North Central's first three scores of the game, despite touching the ball just 11 times. He scored three touchdowns and gained 60 yards in nine rushing attempts and caught two passes for 57 yards and another TD.

He moved into second place in school history in career points scored (210) and also currently ranks third all-time at North Central in rushing yards (2,450) and rushing touchdowns (31). He earned First Team All-CCIW honors last season, when he set a North Central single-season record of 1,206 rushing yards.

The Cardinals play their first road game of the 2012 season this weekend, traveling to Menomonie, Wis., to face the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
